The transaction is one of the industry´s largest Pharma-Biotech R&D collaborations. MorphoSys is one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies focusing on fully human antibodies. The transaction is aimed at establishing a pipeline of innovative drugs and combines MorphoSys’ and Novartis’ research and development capabilities. Shearman & Sterling represented MorphoSys AG in connection with a comprehensive strategic alliance with Novartis in the discovery and development of pharmaceuticals. Should the cooperation run over its entire 10-year term, aggregate payments to MorphoSys could potentially exceed $1 billion.
