Frost & Sullivan presents ShotSpotter, Inc. with the 2007 North America Product Innovation Award, in recognition of its efforts in addressing violent crime. This Award highlights ShotSpotter for the development of its innovative Gunshot Location System (GLS). The technology uses acoustic triangulation to locate gunshots and notifies dispatchers and patrol officers within seconds.

Who's Ring Back Tones? Ring Plus files againt AT&T |

In late December Ring Plus filed a Sealed Motion of Summary Judgment of Patent Infringement against AT&T, asking the Court to make a ruling based on undisputed facts. Ring Plus, based in Longview, Texas, is the holder of a patent that claims a software-based algorithm for operation of a telephone system in which a generated sound presentation can replace or overlay a ring-back signal normally heard in a caller's telephone until such time as a recipient of a telephone call answers (otherwise known as a ring-back tone or “RBT”).
